Digital Imaging

Dr. Phelps carefully decides which x-rays are taken and when, following recommended guidelines.  Radiographs allow us to see things we otherwise couldn’t, such as cavities between teeth, bone levels, and the overall health of the bone. X-rays also show the roots and nerves of teeth, lesions such as cysts or tumors, and damage from trauma.

Dental radiographs an important tool in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health. Exposure time for dental radiographs is extremely low. Dr. Phelps utilizes Digital Imaging Technologies within the office. With digital imaging, exposure time is about 50 percent less when compared to traditional radiographs. Digital imaging can also help us see cavities more acurately.

Digital imaging allows us to keep patient images more organized, and enables us to quickly and easily transfer them to other dental specialists or insurance companies.
